• Victoria Rothwell named as one of f:Entrepreneur’s inaugural #ialso Top 100
  • Campaign celebrates the UK’s inspirational and multi-achieving female entrepreneurs
  • A number of activities will be held as part of the f:Entrepreneur campaign in the run-up to International Women’s Day on 8 March, including a flagship event in Central London

Small business campaign f:Entrepreneur has revealed its #ialso Top 100, a collection of 100 female entrepreneurs inspiring their peers and communities through their businesses and wider activities.

Included in the list is Victoria Rothwell from Chester, Cheshire who founded The Beautiful Method, a domestic housekeeping service in 2017. Since a young age, it had been Victoria’s dream to run her own business and be her own boss; originally starting out in a career in fashion, her dream was becoming a reality until she fell pregnant with her first child. Unfortunately, Victoria developed severe anxiety and post-natal depression following the birth of her son. In a very dark and difficult time, her world shattered around her along with her confidence, self-belief and drive. She endeavoured to go back to work to mask her feelings, but her attempts were unsuccessful. Three years later, Victoria gave birth to two healthy twin girls and simultaneously hurtled herself into a rather hectic twin-mum lifestyle. After thinking life was on the up, PND and anxiety took a hold of Victoria again. Thankfully, due to an incredible support network and family, Victoria realised that she needed to jump back into the world of work and challenge herself once more to help her overcome her anxiety and depression. During this time, Victoria had been let down by a number of cleaning services and had noted a gap in the market for a professional and reliable domestic housekeeping service that was both eco and family friendly. And so The Beautiful Method was born – a housekeeping service with a consistently high standard of service using only eco-friendly products, family friendly working hours and a fantastic working environment.

Victoria’s listing is undoubtedly down to her resilience and strength; she was able to turn a very difficult time in her life around to become something fantastic. She has an entrepreneurial mind and a positive outlook on life that would be an inspiration to any other females who are dreaming they can achieve such success of their own.

Victoria is a part of the first #ialso Top 100, a campaign born from International Women’s Day 2018. During the event, the phrase used most by the gathered entrepreneurs was “I also…”, with each woman describing their work as being much more than a single-job career and more of a flexible portfolio.

On being listed in the #ialso Top 100, Victoria said:

“I am really excited to have been listed in the #ialso Top 100, though a little shocked at the same time! I am really proud to have received this recognition as it hasn’t been an easy journey, I just hope that my story inspires other women to take the leap of faith and give running their own business a go, too – it can be so rewarding and you have the opportunity to meet some amazing like-minded women on the way too”

The Beautiful Method is now also beginning an exciting new venture; Victoria has decided to franchise the company, giving other like-minded people the opportunity to run a successful business, just like herself! We are looking for ambitious, driven and hard-working people to join us in our exciting period of growth. By joining The Beautiful Method, you will be joining a company that supports growth, flexibility and integrity. Be your own boss, run your own company and do it all in your own time, with the support of a successful group behind you. Get in touch today for more information – let’s see where our journey can take you!

The aim of f:Entrepreneur is to showcase multi-achieving women like Victoria in the #ialso Top 100, to provide lessons of challenge and success for all small business founders – both men and women.

The campaign is built around a programme of content, stories and events including roundtables, Q&A sessions and panels as well as larger all-day events throughout the year. This year the campaign will be holding its biggest ever event in London in the week leading up to International Womens Day.

Now in its third year, f:Entrepreneur is run by peak b, a campaigning organisation with a world class track record in conception, management and execution of high-profile, national campaigns particularly in the small business and enterprise sectors.

Both f:Entrepreneur and peak b were founded by Michelle Ovens MBE, who is also director of Small Business Saturday UK and chair of the Small Business Charter.

Michelle said:

“I am delighted to reveal f:Entrepreneur’s first ever #ialso Top 100; the trailblazers demonstrating that entrepreneurialism is a space being reinvented by women. The stories of these women are incredibly inspirational and reach outside the traditional bounds of business, including a number of cancer survivors and carers, amongst many other people who do so much more than their day job.

“This is a campaign that highlights the work of incredible women, but it is not only aimed at inspiring other women. This is for men too; showing everyone that even in the toughest situations in life, it is entrepreneurs who are the people that not only survive but thrive, creating purposeful small businesses and supporting their communities every day.”
