The Coronavirus pandemic has made us look at cleaning in a different way. People have always wanted a clean home or workplace, but never before have our lives literally depended upon it. The nations cleaners have gone from unsung heroes to the most important workers in the country.
I have always said that our staff are at the forefront of our business. I always tell each and every member of my teams how vital their work is, and how much they are appreciated by all our clients. They may not always feel but it is important that they know.
Cleaning is a bloody hard job, as most of you know from cleaning your own homes. But, it’s your home so if you miss a bit or you do a crappy job because you can’t be arsed, no one is bothered… except you.
But, imagine doing that to the very best of your ability for 6-8 hours every day 5 days a week in other peoples’ homes or places of work – and let’s face it, at the moment most of our homes have become our place of work. If you are not giving your best self at every moment in every home then someone will notice, someone will say… “hey you missed a bit”.
Cleaners can’t do a ‘crappy job’ and do you know what… they don’t want to!
“All too often, the role of cleaners is invisible and forgotten yet our work couldn’t be more important, particularly now in the fight against Coronavirus, and this reinforces our call for cleaners to be given essential ‘critical or key worker’ status due to the need for high hygiene standards during the pandemic.” Chairman of the BCC, Paul Thrupp.
I could not agree more with Paul Thrupp and his comment… What our cleaners do for all of our clients, whether they are domestic or commercial is absolutely fucking amazing!
Of course, we’ve known this all along, but I think that everyone in the cleaning sector appreciates our vital work being recognised by the country’s leading figures.
Without a shadow of a doubt, all our clients rely on us to keep their homes beautiful and clean, more so than ever before. In the current climate, it’s so important to keep their homes and places of work clean and sanitised, all touchpoints relentlessly sanitised over and over again.
The work that our cleaners and housekeepers do means that our clients can sit down at the end of the day to relax knowing that their home is spotless. That their laundry has been done and all pressed, ironed and put away, and when they go into their home office or kitchen table to start their day they can do so without looking around thinking…. “Oh my goodness my house is a mess”, leaving them struggling to concentrate on their working day as all they can see is a mess around them.
Our team and many others across the country and world for that matter provide clients with peace of mind… if you have a cleaner you know exactly what I mean when I say
There is nothing better than coming home to a fresh, clean house with all the laundry done, ironed and put away… pure bliss!
So next time your cleaner arrives to start work just say hello and thank you…
It’s only 3 words, but those 3 words can make the biggest difference to your cleaners day. And you and I both know that they are worth their weight in gold and are an absolute necessity in any home or workplace right now!
