Valentine’s Day is just around the corner but luckily for you, there is still plenty of time to get those plans in place! Since the 14thcentury, Valentine’s day has been associated with romance and has become a time for couples to express their gratitude towards one another. Albeit a slightly commercialised day of celebration, here at The Beautiful Method we’d never pass up the chance of an evening of fine-dining, so you shouldn’t either! Take the opportunity to spend some quality time with the person you love in some of the fantastic local eating venues. To make it that little bit easier, we’ve gathered our favourite 5 restaurants in one list (and attached their special Valentine’s Day set menus), so why not check them out and get yourselves booked in!
Upstairs at the Grill
First up, Upstairs at the Grill. Based in the heart of Chester, Upstairs at the Grill is a steakhouse across two levels, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and great unique list of cocktails. They have advertised their Valentine’s Day deal on their Facebook page this year – a Chateaubriand for two or a USDA Special Butcher Cuts Board plus a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne, all for £120! I would have been in big trouble if I hadn’t included Upstairs at the Grill in this list – it is Victoria’s favourite restaurant in Chester and she certainly wouldn’t pass up the chance to have one of their dishes!
Cock O Barton
Next up, the Cock O Barton – situated in the South Cheshire countryside, the Cock O Bartonboasts a great wine and cocktail list alongside an extensive menu (covering all options including gluten free and vegan!). This year, they are advertising a fantastic 3 course set menu, for just £35 per head that you can check out here. And if you’re not fancying a sit-down meal, why not just go and visit them for a drink? There is always a fantastic atmosphere around the Cock O Barton’s bar!
Sticky Walnut
Found in Hoole, Sticky Walnut is an award-winning bistro and certainly not a dining experience to miss out on. Beautifully presented and freshly prepared food accompanied by only the best wine will certainly make your Valentine’s Day one to remember this year; Sticky Walnut have also prepared their own set menu coming in at £60 per head – I’m already dreaming of the roasted duck breast. What’s more, they’re going to have a communal table for if anyone wants to make friends and add to the dining experience!
