Christmas is fast approaching and that can mean only one thing… it’s Christmas party time! When the festive season comes knocking it brings a whole host of celebrations and I’m sure I’m not the only one who uses this for an excuse to restock my wardrobe with an extensive number of Christmas dresses… So, here at TBM we have done our research and found our favourite five Christmas party dresses that we are sure will suit many of this year’s festivities. In no particular order, let’s delve into the sparkles of this year’s occasion wear…
Coast Maria Strapless Embroidered Yoke Cocktail Dress
First up is this lovely number by Coast; I have always felt that understated simplicity is the perfect way to show your sophistication when it comes to dresses. Often, less is more and the subtle decoration on the bust of this dress really helps to keep the dress a very classy, elegant number whilst the gentle sparkle is still perfectly fitting for Christmas. I came across this dress on John Lewis and Partners who are currently price matching this dress, and it is retailing at £109 (find it here). Team this with a simple barely there heel and you will be party ready in no time!
Jacquard One-Shoulder Karen Millen Jumpsuit
Though this isn’t strictly a dress, I am a big advocate of jumpsuits and I simply couldn’t ignore this Karen Millen number – currently retailing at £299, this jumpsuit is an investment and would certainly be suited to a number of events this season (find it here). The wide leg trousers will float elegantly as you walk and the asymmetry of the one shoulder gives this number that all important party feel. The tie belt will flatteringly cinch you in at the waist, and yes, this jumpsuit has pockets. Really, what more could you want?
Next Sequin Dress
Looking glamorous this Christmas doesn’t have to come with a high-end price tag. Here at TBM, we are a big fan of this lovely sequin shift dress, retailing on Next for £26 (find it here). A shift dress is a great option for those parties where you know you’re wanting to get up and dance as they have the movement in them that will help those sequins to catch the light, making sure all eyes are on you! And what’s more, this dress comes in petite as well as regular/tall, meaning there will be the perfect fit for everyone!
Coast Sandy Embroidered Cape Maxi
I know I have already included a Coast dress in this blog, but I just couldn’t ignore this gorgeous Cape Maxi (find it here). Retailing at £395 this dress does come in at a more designer price but boy would it be worth it! As you walk into the party the full skirt will flow seamlessly behind you which would make you not only look elegant, but feel elegant. The design of this dress means you would simply need to pair it with a plain black heel and clutch to help make sure the detailing of the skirt will really pop. Coast dresses are an investment as they are extremely well made and the styles are timeless meaning you aren’t just limiting the wear to one Christmas. Our very own style guru Victoria will be wearing a Coast dress for our much anticipated TBM Christmas Party… keep your eyes peeled for the pictures!
Galvan Sienna Halter-neck Silk Gown
Last but certainly not least, is this Sienna halter-neck silk gown by Galvan, currently retailing in Harvey Nichols for £995 (find it here). The simplicity of this dress is what makes it exude sophistication; the low cut back makes the dress a flirty, sensual cut perfect for an evening gown, and I would certainly go for an up-do to make sure your hair does not cover the minimal detailing of the back. The silk material will allow the dress to fall naturally and softly over the body, and so to keep the elegance of the dress, simply pair with stilettos and chose a clutch bag with minimal detail. Though this is a high-end designer dress, it is certainly one to make sure you are the belle of the ball this party season.
So there we have it; TBM’s top 5 Christmas Party dresses covering any budget and occasion.
